Terms of Service

Effective date: 22 April 2026

These terms govern your use of Riff ("the Service"), operated by Idea Junkies Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 13851834, with registered office at 7 Lansdowne Terrace, Gosforth, NE3 1HN.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Business-to-business service

Riff is sold exclusively to businesses. By creating an account or subscribing, you warrant that you are entering into this agreement in the course of a business, trade, craft, or profession, and not as a consumer. The consumer protections under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 do not apply to this agreement.

2. The Service

Riff is a software-as-a-service platform that helps you create written content using AI, trained on your voice profile. We may change, add, or remove features over time.

3. Your account

You must be at least 18 years old and authorised to bind your business to these terms. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us straight away if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. Subscription and billing

Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance via Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles payment processing, VAT, and invoicing. Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel it from your account. Pricing may change with 30 days' notice before your next renewal.

5. Your content

You own the content you input into the Service and the drafts the Service generates for you. You grant us a limited licence to process your content solely to operate and improve the Service for you. We do not use your content to train third-party AI models without your explicit opt-in.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to create content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or that infringes anyone else's rights. You agree not to reverse engineer the Service, scrape it, or use it to build a competing product.

7. Our intellectual property

The Service itself, including its software, design, and underlying models, is owned by Idea Junkies Ltd. Nothing in these terms transfers any ownership of the Service to you.

8. Cancellation and termination

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms or if we are required to by law. See our Refund Policy for how cancellations affect payments.

9. Warranties and liability

The Service is provided "as is". We make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any AI-generated output will be accurate or fit for a particular purpose. You are responsible for reviewing any content before publishing it.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim under these terms is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We exclude all liability for indirect, consequential, or economic loss, loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of goodwill. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under English law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or in-product at least 30 days before they take effect.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
